Netflix


Netflix is reportedly exploring the launch of live streaming for its unscripted series and stand-up specials. The move would bring the streamer in line with the linear networks.

The capability is still in the early stages of development and so a long way from a potential rollout. Should it work though, it means that Netflix would be able to use it for live voting for competition series and talent contests. [Source: Deadline]

BMF


Oscar winner Mo’Nique has joined Starz’s hit crime drama “BMF” for its second season in a recurring role. She will play Goldie, a sophisticated strip club owner in Atlanta with the street smarts and swagger to get by. She’s also a formidable ally for the Flenory brothers. [Source: Instagram]

The New Look


Maisie Williams has joined the Apple TV+ drama series “The New Look” alongside Ben Mendelsohn and Juliette Binoche as Christian Dior and Coco Channel respectively.

Set during the Nazi occupation of Paris, Williams will play a French Resistance member. Williams also recently joined the nonfiction true-crime drama “Sinner V. Saints” co-starring Freddie Highmore. [Source: ]

Cinderella


Nuyorican Productions, Skydance Television, and Concord Originals are backing the limited series “Cinderella” based on Rodgers & Hammerstein’s musical version of the classic tale. Rachel Shukert (“GLOW”) will pen, executive produce and serve as showrunner whilst Jennifer Lopez will also executive produce. [Source: TV Line]

Carpool Karaoke


Apple TV+ has released a trailer for the fifth season of “Carpool Karaoke: The Series” which returns on May 27th. Simu Liu, Jessica Henwick, Murray Bartlett, Alexandra Daddario, Sydney Sweeney, Zooey Deschanel, and Jonathan Scott amongst others will star.
