Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is becoming the highest-paid safety in NFL history after receiving a four-year contract extension worth $18.4 million per year, sources tell NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The deal includes $36 million guaranteed, one of the first big moves by new Steelers general manager Omar Khan, and the signing is the highest annual average salary and the most money guaranteed at signing for any safety in the league.
The All-Pro recorded 124 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in the 2021-22 season which was enough to help the Steelers makie it to the playoffs.
