Steven Yeun (“Nope,” “Burning”) is reuniting with his “Okja” director Bong Joon Ho on Bong’s next feature film at Warner Bros. Pictures and Plan B. Yeun joins a cast that includes Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Mark Ruffalo and Toni Collette.
Bong will write, direct and produce the currently untitled film based on Edward Ashton’s novel “Mickey7”. That book follows an Expendable – a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim.
After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact. After six deaths, Mickey7 begins to understand the terms of his deal.
Dooho Choi, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner also produce. The project will mark Bong’s first feature since his 2019 film “Parasite” shattered records and became the first non-English-language film to take home the Best Picture Oscar.
