What to expect from Amazon Prime Day 2022

The online giant is rolling out a series of deals that have thrilled users, including markdowns on gaming controllers, activewear, and outdoor string lights that will leave your backyard glowing. But the event isn’t just about lower prices: There are also a series of benefits that come along with it, like earning $10 credits by streaming shows on Prime Video or listening to songs with Prime Music, or getting credits for buying from brands like Procter & Gamble. You can even win prizes by supporting small businesses.

Should you buy an electric toothbrush on Prime Day?

The answer to this question, of course, depends on what you’re hoping to get out of Prime Day. But if you’re new to the world of electric toothbrushes, the data bears this out: They work. They do a better job at cleaning teeth and gums than a manual toothbrush can, according to a study by the Oral Health Association. Oscillating heads especially work well at removing plaque, according to experts. Who doesn’t want to ace their next dentist appointment (or at least not leave in tears)?

But there’s one big con: Electric toothbrushes are often on the pricier side. They can run as much as 10 times the cost of a manual toothbrush, so it’s well worth it to take advantage of some of Prime Day’s best electric toothbrush discounts.

Aside from buying an electric toothbrush, you’ll need to make sure you brush your teeth for two minutes, two times a day with fluoride toothpaste, per the American Dental Association. Brushing your teeth sets in motion a process that leads to less plaque and eventually less tartar buildup, which in turn prevents gum disease. Make sure you add in flossing, swishing some mouthwash, and drinking lots of water to make up a complete dental routine.

What electric toothbrush brands have deals on Prime Day?

At this point we’ve probably whet your appetite. Are you ready to shop for some toothbrushes?  Prime Day ends today, so the time to start browsing is now. Here are some of our favorites.

AquaSonic Vibe Series: If you want a rose-gold shade, we like the AquaSonic Vibe Series ultra-whitening toothbrush. At $40, it’s marked down 20% from its regular price. The product produces 40,000 vibrations a minute and comes with eight brush heads and a travel case. One recent reviewer calls it the “best toothbrush ever.”

Burst Electric Toothbrush: If you’re looking for something offbeat, try this charcoal-infused Burst toothbrush. At $50, it’s not the cheapest option, but it’s down by 44% on Amazon right now. Experts say it removes 10 times more plaque than a manual brush. More importantly, its sleek black look and bristles make it a stylish addition to your bathroom.

Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9750: Hey, big spenders, this one’s for you. Meet this rechargeable electric toothbrush in lunar blue. At $300, it’s only reduced by 9%, but it’s the same brand as the beloved toothbrush that we reviewed. It will revolutionize your clean with five modes, including TongueCare and Deep Clean, and smart sensors that provide feedback while you brush.
