Inside Georgian country house where Boris Johnson and Carrie will host lavish wedding

Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie Symonds are set to host a lavish wedding party for friends and family later this weekend, according to reports.

The couple, who share two year old son Wilfred and seven month old daughter Romy together, officially tied the knot in May 2021 in a secret wedding at Westminster Cathedral in front of a handful of guests.

With Covid-19 restrictions still in place at the time, only 30 guests were able to congratulate the newlyweds’ big day in a later celebration held in the Downing Street garden.

However, more than a year later, the pair look set to mark their nuptials surrounded by loved-ones and are getting ready to throw a celebration in the Cotswolds, the Mirror reports.

According to the publication, 58 year old Boris and Carrie, 34, have chosen the 1,500 acre grounds of Daylesford House as their venue of choice.

As part of the celebrations, the couple have arranged a marquee for the occasion where guests are expected to dance the night away.

The Georgian-built property is the home of billionaire JCB chairman Lord Bamford, who is known to be a supporter of the Conservative Party.

The home features a vast array of pristinely manicured gardens, an 18th-century orangery and even comes with a secret garden that boasts its very own swimming pool, grotto and pizza oven.

Elsewhere, a walled kitchen garden features an orchid and peach house, rose garden and some topiary elephants.

Boris and Carrie have not confirmed the wedding party and speaking of the reports, a Downing Street spokesman told The Mirror: “We do not comment on speculation regarding private or family matters which do not involve any ministerial declarations or taxpayer funds.”

Boris, who has been married three times, was first linked to Carrie in 2019 and the couple moved into Downing Street together when he became Prime Minister in the same year.

While Number 10 Downing Street is most commonly associated with all things politics, the pair live in a four bedroom flat above Number 11 due to it being larger in size.

The property has undergone a series of renovations in the past, and Boris and Carrie have reportedly given their home a makeover since moving in.

But with Boris resigning as leader of the Conservative Party last month and announcing that he is set to step back as Prime Minister later this autumn, it’s unclear when the couple will call home in the future.
